Five day retreat in the French Ardennes with Continuum instructor Amber Gray (US).

Continuum is a movement practice pioneered by Emilie Conrad that increases mobile flexibility, motility, well-being, creativity, innovation, adaptability and vitality on many levels. Unlike movement practices that rely on fixed patterns or postures, Continuum enables us to access our capacity for fluid, free, non-constrained movement, which enhances a sense of youthfulness, aliveness and well-being. Continuum is particularly beneficial to restore movement and resilience after injury, illness and chronic stress.

Continuum is fundamentally based on the shamanistic principle that if one wants to know something, gain its information and power, one imitates it, or becomes it: We learn by embodiment.

Continuum has some of its roots in the core undulate movements of Haitian dance. Beyond the physical, the practice facilitates state changes, or what might be called “emotional & psychic shape-shifting”. In this workshop we combine Continuum with rhythmic and shamanic activities rooted in earth-based rituals and movement based practices of Vaudu. This workshop includes all-nighters, a time to dive into dreams, perceptual shifts and deep explorations of the inner landscape.

This workshop is applicable for practitioners of bodywork, movement, psychotherapy and arts-inspired practices, especially those working with trauma.
